Kelly McCuaig

Senior Pastor

EMAIL KELLY

Meet Kelly

After almost 20 years of ministry, Kelly is having some of the most fun of his life as the Lead Pastor of First Methodist Church! He is passionate about preaching the truth of God’s love and grace, and he longs for the holy love of Christ to fill the hearts of all people. He leads with a deep belief that God can transform anyone, anywhere.

Kelly is married to his best friend and partner, Shannon. Together, they’ve followed God’s call to full-time ministry across three separate continents, and now they’re so blessed that God has called them to Carlsbad. They live here with their two kids (12 and 16), who keep life full of joy. When he’s not at the church, you might find Kelly reading, binge-watching the next great thriller, sci-fi, or fantasy show with his son, firing up the grill, or planning his next hike.

Clint Hixon

Worship Pastor

EMAIL CLINT

Meet Clint

Clint was born and raised in midland, tx. He grew up in a Baptist church that set the foundation for his faith. He went to Texas tech for a little while, and when that didn’t work out, he went to bible college. Although he wasn’t able to finish all of his schooling in bible college, he hopes to go back and finish one day. Clint has felt called to ministry since 7th grade. He knew very early on who God is and what He had done for him. Clint waited patiently for almost 20 years until God gave Him an opportunity to lead in ministry. Above all, Clint desires that God is glorified. Ultimately, he doesn’t care if chords are played perfectly, songs are sang on key, or if you cant keep on beat. The most important thing is that God is glorified and worshipped for who He is. True worship comes from the heart and that is all Clint requires on his team.
