Day 11 — Wednesday, August 26 Honest Confession

Day 11 — Wednesday, August 26
Honest Confession
We’re praying together for a fresh move of God among us, confessing honestly as we prepare for Spirit & Truth Weekend (September
25–27).
READ
Acts 5:3-4 “Then Peter said, ‘Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and
have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it
was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human
beings but to God.’”
PRAY TOGETHER
Almighty and gracious God, holy, holy, holy is Your name!
We give You thanks and praise for the gift of Your grace and mercy in our lives, for it is grace and mercy that we
need daily. Without such love, we are destined for the destruction of our own sin and brokenness.
May we believe ever more fully in Your message to ‘repent and believe in the gospel’ of our Lord Jesus. By the
power and conviction of Your Holy Spirit, reveal among us the ways we have sinned against others and against
You. As painful as that may be, may we trust that when we confess our sins, by the power of Your Son’s blood on
the cross, we are assured of Your forgiveness and welcomed more deeply into Your arms of mercy.
We know that revival comes only when we — Your people — confess, repent, and follow Your Spirit to be more
holy as You are holy. In our confession and repentance, free us for joyful obedience, give us newness of life in
Christ, and let us anticipate a great renewal of Your Holy Spirit among us.
We ask all of this to Your glory, O Father, through the lordship of Your Son, and by the power of Your Spirit.
Amen.
