The Holy Spirit isn’t a doctrine to affirm from a distance — the Spirit is a person to know, the very presence and
power behind the life we were made for. Beginning August 16 and continuing through September 24, our church
family is spending 40 days in focused, corporate prayer, asking for exactly that: real presence, real power, and
real change among us by, with, and through the Holy Spirit. Each day is paired with a short passage of Scripture,
and a member of our congregation has written a short prayer in response — so that, together, these 40 prayers
become a guide our whole church can pray through as one body.
This season of prayer walks alongside our sermon series on the Holy Spirit — moving from dry bones to new life
and from worship that’s more than a feeling to fruit that’s more than talk. It all builds toward Spirit & Truth
Weekend, September 25–27 — a weekend set aside to trust the Holy Spirit for real change in us and through us
as we reach our city with the gospel. You can read more about Spirit & Truth Weekend, including the full
schedule, on the next page.
Each day, read the passage of Scripture, then pray the prayer — alone, with your family, or with your church
family — asking the Spirit to make us more like the disciples God longs for us to be and to prepare us for what
the Spirit can and will do among us here and now as we share the call to make disciples in our town and across
the globe. This prayer initiative isn’t about sensationalism; it’s about substance. This isn’t about hype; it’s about
holiness.
Let’s seek the Holy Spirit together. Let’s seek His presence, His power, and the life-giving change He can bring in
our lives and in our congregation.
