At First Methodist Carlsbad, we recognize the incredible opportunity we have to invest in the next generation. Research from the International Bible Society shows that 83% of Christians commit their lives to Christ between the ages of 4-14, and the Barna Research Group indicates that children aged 5-13 have a significantly higher probability of accepting Christ compared to teenagers. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
We believe that children’s ministry is one of the most influential ministries in the church. This is a time to plant seeds of faith that will shape their lives forever. Our mission is to reach children with the love and message of Jesus, helping them grow spiritually as they step into the future God has planned for them. Kids are not only our future—they are our present, and we are committed to serving them and guiding them in their faith journey.
All of our classes are Biblically focused and are taught by our trained teachers and volunteers
who fiercely love the Lord and His precious children. We invite you and your children to join us

Sundays at 10:45am
On Sundays, we offer four classes during our 10:45 modern service:
● Littles 1 (0-18 months)
● Littles 2 (18-36 months)
● Littles 3 (3-5 year olds)
● K5 (Kinder-5th grade)
Wednesdays at 7:00pm
On Wednesdays, we offer four classes at 7:00 pm:
● Littles (0-5 year olds)
● K1 Way (Kinder & 1st Graders)
● Kingdom Kids (2nd & 3rd Graders)
● Junction 45 (4th & 5th Graders)
FAQ’s
What security measures do you have in place?
The safety of your children is our top priority. All of our children’s ministry volunteers are background-checked and trained according to Ministry Safe standards (ministrysafe.org) to ensure a secure and nurturing environment. We also have a safe and secure check-in and check-out system to ensure that only authorized individuals can pick up your child. When you arrive, our team will be happy to assist you with the check-in process and answer any questions you may have. Security cameras are also placed in every children’s room, including the nursery area.
How can I stay updated on what my child is learning?
In the check in room we have parent take home papers with information on what we learned and follow up discussions to continue the conversation at home.
What if my child has a medical condition or allergy?
Your child’s safety is our top priority. During check-in, you’ll have the opportunity to share any medical conditions, allergies, or special instructions. This information is clearly communicated to your child’s teachers and volunteers so they can provide the best care possible. If you’d like to talk through your child’s specific needs ahead of time, we’re happy to connect—just contact our Kids Ministry team!
